Everyone hates email, myself included, but Alexis Madrigal at The Atlantic makes a fairly persuasive case that email is still one of the best forms of communication — in part because no one owns it, and therefore it is platform-agnostic and open. Alexis argues that it’s being unbundled into its component services, and that’s a good thing.
This product never became available to my country, never tried it, never used it, won’t miss it. Hope the change is for a good, healthy and GLOBAL product, not just for the US.

Google already knows how to identify you even without your real name, so why is that so important? And, after all, why your name is so damn private, secret, etc., so you want to keep it for yourself? What are you doing that is not supposed to be done?!
Newsle barely works outside the US, tried to use it several times. It’s a nice acquisition for LinkedIn, though.
I find it cute and can’t wait to have my fingers on it. Hope to see more apps using the UI ASAP.
